Plans, prioritizes, summarizes, directs, and oversees staff, users, and vendors in the EHR systems development and support functions with an emphasis on a complete, accurate, compliant, and secure system; Provides functional and technical leadership for the implementation and support of the EHR, enhancements, and modifications; Prepares and recommends short- and long-term goals and objectives for the EHR development and support functions; Provides insight and the appropriate level of reporting to various leaders and partners within the organization; Assists in the development, approval process, and dissemination of artifacts as required to support the procurement, evaluation, and contracting of assigned EHR and other systems; The EHR Project Director will ensure the development of functionally accurate, efficient, well-tested, and secure program code, utilities, and tools; Ensures the development of test areas, system test data, and testing methods prior to implementation of new or revised systems and is accountable for post-implementation reviews; Ensures the ongoing integration of information security with business strategies and requirements; Ensures that the EHR environment has the access control, disaster recovery, and business continuity needs of the organization are properly addressed; and. The Project Director will provide an effective advisory and oversight role for the successful delivery of concurrent complex projects at multiple stages to ensure projects maintain alignment with the EHR Strategy while being delivered on time, to the required quality, and within budget.
